They have someone coming to sort it out so I will try to look again next week but meanwhile here is an article I transcribed about his being re-elected as Mayor. From the Maryborough Advertiser 28 Aug 1895.
Mr. J.C.F. Ulbrich, who was on Monday elected Mayor of Maryborough, is the first Australian native upon whom the honor has been conferred to this municipality. The Councillor’s selection is a poplar one, and Mr Ulbrich has been congratulated on all sides on attaining the “blue ribbon” of local government. Mr Ulbrich, who is a graduate of the Melbourne University, having taken the degree of bachelor of arts, came to Maryborough in the year 1887, and became the principal of the High school. He took an active interest in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the town, and in the early part of 1891 was chosen by the ratepayers of the West Ward to fill the vacancy in the Borough Council caused by the retirement of the late Mr J. Evans, defeating Messrs Churchill and Virtue. At the annual elections in August of the same year, he again met Mr Virtue, this time single-handed, and was returned by a large majority. On the expiration of his three years term of office in August last year, he was re-elected by a substantial majority. Mr Ulbrich has also occupied a seat on the Board of Management of the Maryborough Hospital for several years, and is at the present time president of the institution, having be re-elected to the position for a second term at the annual meeting of subscribers held last month, In all matters he has identified himself with he has displayed great energy and indomitable perseverance. As a councillor he had been most assiduous in looking after the requirements of the ward he represents; and at the same time actively co-operating in promoting every movement calculated to advance the interests of the borough, Judged by has past career, we are confident Cr Ulbrich will discharge the onerous duties of the mayoral office to the satisfaction of the townspeople and with credit to himself.
