WW2 ex-POW papers help please

Hello

Had quite a successful Kew visit today and wonder if anyone can shed some light on the following.

I have the 'pink' questionnaire that was given to ex-POWs from WW2. 
The man, a Cpl, I have the full details including his service number but do not want to mention this as it may affect living persons.  He was captured at Salerno (it actually says Selerno) Italy in September 1943.  I gather that the Allies landed at Salerno in July of that year. 

The bit I need help on is ....

Hospital or Camp detained at:

Camp 344   Location Lambdorf    Dates Sept 43 - Jan 45.

Does anyone know where Lambdorf is?  It sounds German but I cannot find anything despite Googling.

With my research skills at Kew I always need a lot of luck!  Somehow I've never really cottoned on to all the resources as some have and it takes me ages to find stuff.  And I was trained as a Librarian      I get a bit impatient, but I plug away ...

Today I also found my grandfather's WW1 discharge papers, not surprised that he was only 5'6" but had tattoos!

So quite fruitful really for change !

My uncle was in Stalag V111b if you google that will bring up some stories on the peoples war site.
I have not done a lot of research on this uncle as yet but if you google Lamsdorfe death march That will bring up a lot more interesting stuff.
Those guys had a rough ride out there. My uncle has long since past away, so no information can be gained there, sorry.

Hello again Biker,

Having a look though my stuff, since I last posted you, my Uncle was in 344, in 1943.
I did get his POW records from the Veterans Agency in Blackpool.
They were very helpful, 
If you get them I hope you can read German I was a bit stuck with that bit.
Looks like you have started me on a trial now Thanks.
By the way if you look on the link and go to We'll meet again then go to George Baker and look close at the photo it says Post office Stalag 344,

Hi Biker, just to say I believe Allies also landed actually in September 1943.  That is when my granddad died on the beaches (?) of Salerno on the 9th Sept 1943 - he was with the 7th Bttn Oxford & Bucks Light infantry.
