I am one of 7 children, 4 of us are dead ringers for my dad, the other 3 are like mum. We have one set of twins in this - one like mum and the other like dad - how fair is that! My daughter has her dads colouring but looks like me, my son and his dad are klones!

I look like my mother, and she looks like her mother, so naturally that means that I look like my grandmother.  I look so much like my mother that once a complete stranger stopped me in the street to ask me how my mother was!

My youngest son looks more like his father, my daughter is the spitting image of her great grandmother and my eldest son looks rather like my father, although he is much taller and slimmer.

My husband looks like his father to a point, but he walks exactly like his father, from the back you couldn't tell them apart.

Also my eldest son looks almost exactly like my cousins youngest son.

Three of my five children look like me. So much so that in pubs when they got older people asked them if they were related to me. I look like my dad and he was like his mother and maternal grandmother.
My youngest son who is like me could be interchangeable with my dad when he was young. He once saw an old photo of my dad and said 'I thought you said I looked like him he looks really old fashioned and boring'. The photo was taken in the fifties and obviously the dress style was different then. So with the gift of the computer I chopped off dad's clothes and just left his face. I framed it. Low and behold when my son saw it standing on the window sill he said ' I don't remember you taking that photo of me where was it?' He was stunned when I said it was my dad.

That all depends which side of the world you are on!!

Everyone in Australia (where I live and where my Mum's family is), thinks I'm just like my Mum.

Everyone in Scotland (where Dad is from), thinks I'm the image of my Dad!!

I can see bits of both sides.

I've been told i look like my mum a Baxendale through and through.
I catch myself saying things and thinking "gawd! i even sound like her "   I look at my brother and think we could be twins, he's 11 years younger than me..................wishful thinking!

I do get great pleasure telling my daughters...."you're just like your Nan"   ;)

The Baxendales live on!

Hi,

I look like the Irish side of the family, the Flanagans.  I am the image of my Mother and she hers, likewise one of my daughters is very like me.  The only difference is that I have mucky brown hair (blond as a child) and my mother et al were all very dark haired.  We recently unearthed a photo taken approx 1878 of my Great Great Grandfather Matthew Flanagan he has his daughter Gertrude sat upon his knee, a child with fair locks and that child absolutely could have been me.

Hugs,

I look like my dad and my eldest sister looks like his twin sister...my 2 younger sisters look like my mum.
Only one of my four kids looks like me, another son looks very like my youngest sister and the other two look like my husband's mother. Quite a mix.
