Hi Silas,

Out of curiosity, I went to the Drysdale cemetery to see if i could find the grave for Rebecca Stannard.
Unfortunately I had no success as this is only a small cemetery I was able to search all the graves but there is quiet a number of them unmarked or in such disrepair you were unable to read the head stones.
I also made a call to the Geelong District cemeteries Trust and asked them to check on their computer but they were unable to find anything. I then rechecked my disc for deaths but it doesn't show on there only Ellen, Thomas and George..it does show on the index site so must be a record somewhere. Not sure where else to look maybe someone on here may be able to help..

Cheers Raels

Dear Silas just wondering who you are? I am the daughter of Doreen Stannard and my grandparents were indeed Ellen and Thomas Stannard. My grandmother was born in England and my grandfather brought her back to Australia, she was whats known as a "war bride".
Looking at your ongoing messages you were looking for details back in 2006, hope you come back on line soon, it was very exciting to come across someone looking for my mother who by the way is still alive and well, we live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Waiting in anticipation of a reply.
Cheers
Stanlaw.

Just to clarify the difficulty over Thomas Stannard 31/1/1895 - 13/2/1983 - his birth name is John William Stannard but he was always known as Tom.

All I can tell you Jackielegs is that Ellen Wigglesworth-Clarkson was my maternal grandmother's neice.  Ellen's father was a Joseph Wigglesworth and was married to Emily Clarkson (my gran's sister).  Joseph, shortly after his marriage to Emily had an affair with Emily's sister - Fanny Clarkson and as a result, Ellen was born.  I do not have the date of Ellen's death, but, as you know she went to Australia and died there.  Sorry, but I have been having a rest from doing my tree for a long time, so my memory of all this isn't too good at the moment.
