Hi Anthony, hope you're keeping well: i see you're still busy as ever checking records for everyone!

Do you think you could check your directories 1890 onwards for:
MADDEN at 27 or 13 SPRUCE STREET.  and also
UTILITY Street for either MADDEN or BRENNAN.

You've checked for me before and came up with some info for DIVIS St.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Many Thanks,
Jomalube

Thanks Anthony, as efficient as ever: could I ask you to look at 19 Ashburn Street - BEATTIE(or BEATTY).  Do you have any record?

Are there any directories for the period between 1902-1910?

Thanks
Jomalube. :-\

Hello Anthony
I'm still trying to track down details for my gt.granda MADDEN & Spruce st, and it's driving me mad!!!
Anyway, Colette has replied to my lookup request and given me lots of useful suggestions one of which was to check Belfast street directories from 1908-1914 to see when 27  Spruce street changed hands.
Would you have that info?
Thanx
Jomalube

Hi Colette. He is the only Michael Mulholland for 1870.
There is no O'Neill or Mulholland for No 9 Shankill Rd they could have been living there but where not the Head of the Household.

There is a Margaret O'Neill living at 16 Townsend St in 1884 a Grocer, thats near No 9 Shankill Rd.

There was a M, Mulholland Spinning Master at 42 Jaffa St in 1896 near the Shankill Rd.
I know what you are thinking, but he was Dead by 1894 yes but his name was still down as the head of the household for some reason if this was him?.

Please let me know what you think about this.

                                                    Anthony

im bloody lost with this quote thingy well anyhow here goes

Anthony in the Griffiths Valuation 1861-2 i found a Michael Mulholland at Glentilt Street as far as i can work out that was just of Agnes street which is of the shankill road could you Please look at your 1870 directory and see if he was still there  and if the occupation was spinning Master. My Grt Grandmother was born in 1871 at 9 Shankill road and he was her father. and he wasnt married to her mother. i think you were right in saying he was at Jaffa street in 1896 even though Margaret was married in 1894 and said her dad was dead. for all i know she never knew him and just said he was dead.

Thankyou Colette
