I looked in the 1880 Directory of Belfast and the Province of Ulster kindly put on line by http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk. They do a really great job of work putting the directories on line. No Skillings for that year in Belfast.

Anthony that Stephen Skilling must be my gt gt gt grandfather - which directory is this in?  that gives me a good chance of some day checking out some school records.  Brilliant. Thank you so much.

What I now have to work out is whether the Stephen Skilling Mill St 1856 and other dates, grocer, is the same as the stephen skilling Teacher. I am thinking that the grocer is the son of the teacher and the brother of my 3 x gt grandfather.

Hello Anthony , Ive found out my Grt Grandmothers birth details it is Margaret Mulholland born 15th aug 1871, number 9 Shankill Road, her Father was Michael mulholland mother was Margaret Oneill the note at the bottom said parents not married could you Please have a look at your 1870 street directory for 9 Shankill Road and let me know who was there.
