Ticehurst Marriages Jun Qtr 1887

      Hi,

          Can anyone come up with a good reason as to why I am unable to find either on Ancestry or Rootsweb of a full list of marriages for this period.
     
           It would appear that M to Z are covered. Not much help if you are looking for James Goodsell he married a Rose .............

           I am wondering if the indexes were damaged or destroyed.

          Any theories would be appreciated.

I think the problem is just down to ancestry's mix uo over indexing pages where a handwritten entry has been added on the end.

If you enter the name James Good into the search on the full marriage indexes, you will get the page that covers Goodsell (although not indexed as such due to the extra entry at the bottom) and sure enough there is James Goodsell marrying in Ticehurst area ref 2b 171

               Thanks for that. I have been trying for ages to get the index ref.

     Now I can send for a certificate. It's amazing how problems are solved by
     probing other peoples minds.
