Hi Gary, I have also researched the same Donald Sutherland that married Janet Anderson in 1841 son of John and Catherine Sutherland.  My connection to this family is through Alexander, Donald's brother I have details of Donald's early life, his second marriage, his reason for coming to Australia etc. Happy to share its not often I find someone else connected to the same "Sutherlands".  I am also in Australia.  Regards Margaret
