I have also links to Tomlin in Shorne, but this time it is Thomas Tomlin who went to India and married a native Mary Paul. I'm trying to work out his parents but the link above doesn't seem to work.

The link was to the online parish registers for Shorne and other nearby towns and villages (I'm not sure why it isn't working either).  However, they are at Medway Cityark http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/ (select parish registers online).

Thank you for that I managed to find Thomas Tomlin on these records, just need to do some more research to confirm he is the right person.
Does anyone know anything about the Tomlin company in India or the Tannery in Shorne?
