Hi Tinkerbell

With the post 1855 date that you have, it should be fairly easy for you to find Alexander Williamson's birth record, which will give his parents' names.

I'm assuming that Charles Buckley and Susan Smith married in 1894/5. Getting this record will also give you both of  their parents' names.

The images can be found, viewed and downloaded from the Scotlands' People website www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. It is pay to view but very reasonable. These should cost you about 6 units each - 1 unit = 20p.

Further information on ALEXANDER WILLIAMSON. He died 2nd July 1923 in York, Toronto, Ontario, leaving at least 2 children that I know of - MARY b. 1896 Inverness, and LINDSAY b.1899 Inverness. LINDSAY served with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force, and died 25th May 1973 in Toronto.

Tinkerbell. The Alexander Williamson you are asking about was my grandfather. Lindsay who served in not only WW I but also WW II was my uncle and Lindsay's younger brother Alexander was my dad. Find me here on RootsChat.com as "Teamster"

Teamster.

Emily Buckley who married Alexander Williamson is my grandmother's sister.

From Canada,  I (and Tinkerbell) have got the Williamson line.  Tinkerbell is my cousin's wife.

It is the Buckley line pre 1891 where the brick wall is on my line.  Very elusive.  Emily's mother Sarah Buckley (ms Smith) was killed in Inverness in Sept 1920 and from her Death cert her parents were Worthington Smith and Elizabeth Smith.
