Thank you so much for getting in touch. Since the original post on this site, I have been fortunate enough to be in contact with Geraint Griffith and he supplied me with more recent details of the family. I would be very interested to exchange information as my grandmother was very close to those in Deganwy where she often stayed, and left me  photographs which you might like to see, also a Christmas card from the front in 1918  sent to her from Glynn, which might be of interest to your son.
Are you the daughter of David Griffith by any chance? I don't have a lot of information about your grandfather and his immediate family, so just a guess.

Yes I am David Griffith's daughter. I have 3 children; Huw b.1997, Henry b.1999, Rachel b.2004. I have researched quite a lot of the family history back to the Griffith and the Vaughan family at Penmachno but would be so interested to learn more and also share info / photos with you. Geraint is my father's first cousin and I know he saw him recently and discussed some family history. What is your connection? Is it through Sera and her brothers?

David Griffith's wife, Jane Evans (1870-1922)  had a brother named John, and he was my grandmothers father. There were 9 Evans siblings in all.
Which meant that my grandmother Elizabeth was 1st cousin to the 3 Griffith sons, and as she was born around the same time as them in 1898 they saw quite a lot of each other, Deganwy being a lovely place for a holiday!
Which translated back means we share gt gt grandparents!

really interesting as I have no information or very little about that side of the family. I only know that Jane, or Jennie, as she was known, came from Bwlch Gwyn near Wrexham. My Dad seemed to think that her parents may have both been married before and so there were half brothers and sisters. Was there a brother, Jimmie who was killed in the Senghenydd pit disaster? I also have a wonderful wedding photograph of David and Jennie with David's brother and I think, Lizzie, Jennie's sister who must be your ancestor? Perhaps you have the same picture but if not you might like a copy. I am based near Welshpool so am not far away from Wrexham. My brother and I have the same names as our great great grand parents; Catherine ( nee Vaughan) and Edward Griffith.
