Burntwood Emergency Hospital was Burntwood Asylum. See reply#4

In 1939, the Ministry of Health's Emergency Medical Service Hospitals were set up for expected civilian casualties in air raids. It was the Asylum,which is still there at Burntwood now posh flats.

There is a photol of the soldiers on there and apparently civillians were housed in nissen huts.
I visited last week and it's really quite lovely up there.The pub a bit of a walk though.
