Abercrombie/Crombie
« on: Friday 13 October 06 00:19 BST (UK) »
Is it likely that the name Crombie originated from Abercrombie or (to anyone's knowledge) are they completely different lines?  Just curious (but secretly hoping they are nothing to do with each other as can foresee much confusion!)
Thanks
Leigh

Hi Leigh

A quick look on Google brought up this reference: www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp.c/qx/crombie-coat-arms.htm

Thanks Monica.  Had a look at the site.  The coat of arms is completely different than that paid for some time ago by another relative (against my advice)!!  But the info about the Gordon clan was the same.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
