Has anyone else received a Certificate folded in three put into a 9 x 4 envelope from ONS?

I like to keep them flat and uncreased :( :-[

I wonder if that because of the new Royal Mail charges?  Now an A4 size envelope under 100gms is classed as a large letter and a lot more money than an ordinary size envelope??

I like mine flat and uncreased as well!!! :-\

I was afraid that was going to happen  - I too like them nice and flat.  Sometimes they can be difficult to read (flowery writing) anyway.

Guess we could try ironing them on the wrong side!!!

It might help

My first certs that I ordered (only about 4 months ago) came folded - I presumed it was the norm.  However subsequent ones have come in A4 envelopes.

Annoyingly, even though they were ordered on the same order, they all arrive in separate envelopes invariably on the same day!

Although I am thrilled with the information ;D, that's another child with the right mother.

I had to pay £1.50 extra  for this one because the ink had faded, and I couldn't read the page number to order it on-line ...then  they go a crease it aswell ::)

I've only ever received folded certificates in response to faxed requests for 3 year searches etc.

Up to & including yesterday, my online orders continue to come flat in a large envelope via TNT.

My understanding was that this was the driver to change to TNT's postal service - customers didn't want folded certificates & the Post Office wanted to charge too much for A4 envelopes.

I have NO IDEA why they fold the fax / letter requests because as you say, it is REALLY IRRITATING  >:(

Sandra,
Maybe that is why this one is folded....I had to order by phone.

But all credit to them,  this is the first one ever to arrive before the given dispatch date.. :P. normally they appear to have been in the post for four days after the dispatch date..
