Where is Ashford, Derbyshire This is the birthplace listed for a 5thgrandfather. What parish might the birth be recorded at in 1800 approximately name is John Oldfield. he is listed in the 1861 census age 60 living in Ardwick.

I think you'll find it's Ashford in the Water, just North of Bakewell on the Buxton road.
