locke Larling Norfolk

Hi,

    looking for locke family Larling Norfolk b:1791 John Locke M: Sarah Duffield 1816 had 4 children before he was sent to Australia for life sentence he arrived Australia 1826.

1.Jonathan Locke M: Mary_____
          2.  John Locke M: Mary _______
                 3. Henry Lock
                 3. Jonathan Locke  B: 25/12/1768 Larling Norfolk M:Sarah Elmer
                       4. John Locke B:1791 Larling Norfolk M: Sarah Duffield 3/6/1816
                        4. Robert Locke B :1800 Larling transported to Aust.

After John Locke  transportation to Australia he again married and had a big family . What is lost is the Family he had to Sarah Duffield if any one could help.

I've looked for the ones you have listed with no sucess on the IGI, however I did find these listed at Great Ellingham Norfolk, just a few miles from Larling and wondered if they were any good to you.

Edward Lock christened 6 Jul 1817 parents John and Sarah
John Lock christened 19 Jul 1818 parents John and Sarah

William Lock married Lydia Kiddle 25 Dec 1828
Lydia Lock christened 9 Mar 1829 parents William and Lydia

Daniel Lock married Frances Wade 9 Mar 1829
Johnathan Lock christened 18 Oct 1829 parents Daniel and Frances

Johnathan or Daniel is not a common Lock name (not in my area anyway)and may help you to go further.

If you can get someone to do a lookup in the 1841 census they may find the John (1818)or Edward (1817)still in Norfolk.

My Joseph Ficham married Mary bn approx 1794  Locke 1817, in Larling, there are many Lock/locke head stones which i have photographed, there are also i beleive some attached at nr by Snetterton.hope this helps..

I didn't say there wern't any Lock/e's at Larling, just that I couldn't find the records of the ones she wanted, I was just trying to help the Lady out after no one else had replied to her message in two weeks, I was able to find a few that may be linked to hers and may help her a little further.

Not sure what you are trying to say I certainly did'nt say you were suggesting there were NO Lock/Locke at Larling,
just pointing out my interest, and that you might have been interested as you are both clearly interested in Lock/Locke.

Yes glad people out there like yourself can offer others some help. I for one am always gratefull of others in put however small it might be.

probably like myself you had only just seen the message, I don't normally visit the Norfolk board but I had done a search for Lock/e so thought I'd have a go anyway, hope she finds the message as I notice that was her one and only posting.

HI ,

     Thankyou for your reply I have just found that John was found to live in the parish of Witham, County of Essex on the 20th /August 1824 when he stole a GELDING  and was in 8th December he appears before Mr Justice Burrough, Essex Special Goal Delivery held at Chelmsford and Convicted. So his family may have been in Witham ,Essex . So could anyone help me find the family there of John and Sarah Lock.
