Mountfield Manchester

Seeking anyone with a connection to Mountfields living in Manchester in 1818.
Thomas Mountfield Born Sept 1763 in Whitegate Cheshire.  He is one of the Executors of his Mother Ellin's Will.  Ellin died in Sandiway Whitegate in 1818.
In the Will he is mentioned as residing in Manchester.  Any help appreiciated.

In the 1821 Manchester Directory there is only one Thomas :-

Thomas Mountfield a Porter living at 1 Irwell St, off Water St

That is all the information in the directory for Thomas, no ages given.

And with the first census in 1841, it might be a bit late for him

Hello Barbara,
I see this post is from 2006, but here goes anyway, my John Mountfield/Mounfield was from Weaverham, but he died in Audenshaw Manchester in1818, and was buried in Weaverham. I am trying to find our connection to the Mountfields in  Whitegate the parish nextdoor,(part of Whitegate is actually in Weaverham parish), but lack of baptisms is frustrating....

Sorry it took so long to answer you.  The earliest John Mountfield I have was born in Whitegate, but he was still in Manchester in 1841.  If I find a connection with an earlier John Mountfield I will let you know.
