Has anyone any knowledge of 1800's libraries, newsagents and bookshops. My family had several in name of Webb. Thanks Valerie

The Historical Directores is always a good place to look. Try

www.historicaldirectories.org/hp/index/asp

Go to location, then Gloucestershire etc, Pigot Director 1842, and on image 235 under Bookshops there is Charles Webb at 7 Winchcombe Street. You can try the other directores for more entries. Hope this is of use

Thanks have done the directories and have lots of info on 7 Winchcombe. Was hoping for connections and elaboration of the shops. Thanks again. Valerie

Valerie,

if this was just a shop, you might try a search by name, just in case he was well to do and had a seperate residential address.
