DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE BREWERY THAT WAS IN KING'S STREET AROUND 1850-1930.
MY GRT,GRT AND GRT GRANDFATHERS WORKED THERE.

i dont know off hand about the dates you have mentioned, but in the 1976 directory for scarborough  21 king street there is bass north brewery.
this could be a starting point for you

I was also looking for information as my wife has found out recently that she is related to Thomas Jarvis who was a brewer in Scarborough. We're just starting our investigations but this article seems to have various local contacts who seem to know lots about brewing in Scarborough and it would appear it was Nesfields Brewery:

Condensed from 'Where have all the breweries gone?' by Norman Barber [publ 1980s]:

"ED Nesfield's Trustees, Castle Road Bry and the Phoenix Bry, King St. The earliest established Yorkshire bry, founded 1691 by the Nesfield family.  Taken over by Moors & Robsons Bries Ltd of Hull in 1919.  Brewing ceased in 1932.  The Phoenix Bry is still standing."

Thanks for the info, does the book mention Thomas Jarvis at all? I've found reference via google to a Thomas Jarvis brewer in Bedford but the one my wife is related to is referred to as a 'wealthy retired Scarborough brewer' in articles about him being a patron of artist John Atkinson Grimshaw so we assume his brewery was in Scarborough as we've no evidence to suggest from censuses that he ever lived in Bedford.

The book has Thos Jarvis & Co., Phoenix Brewery, 71 Midland Road, Bedford, taken over by Charles Wells Ltd c1923.
Your Jarvis might be the same, or a brewer who worked for one of the companies.  The name Phoenix might also be a clue to a link with Scarborough, or just coincidence.
The Wells company is still family-owned, I think, and might have archives if you write to them.
