Hello Geney,
Not the same Cocks as which?  I was simply answering Lesanne's appeal for Cock connections.  As she didn't specify other than a date, her Cock family may have originated elsewhere other than Berkshire.

I had a reply from you about the Cock or Cocks unless something had got crossed.

My Cock or Cocks come from around Berkshire.

Hi Geney

Just thought I'd ask, how sure are you that you have the correct Esther Cock?  According to the IGI, the Esther COX in Easthampstead was born 1766 where as  Esther Cock was born Wokingham in 1771.  This is the Esther I took to be married to Edward Chaplin and not Esther COX.
Regards, Carol

Hi Fay
How far have you got with the research these days?  Which Esther Cox/Cock do you have for Edward?

Hi Elrowe

The Hester Cock b 1764 m Edward Chaplin b 1770 unless my facts are wrong. I have not much more info as yet as I have stopped researching that far as I want to concentrate on my Father's Father, William Chaplin and Family.

So no more to tell as yet, unless you have anything as yet to update!

Hi Fay...
where did you get that info from?  The igi lists that lady as Esther COX not Cock, the only Esther Cock was born 1771 in Wokingham.  I just want to make sure we have the correct person.
Regards Carol

I have two lots - the Cock family from around Hughendon who married into the Tofields and the Warricks in the Thames Valley part of Berkshire (they liked the name Athalia) and the Cox family who were herbalists/distillers in Reading but who originally came from Crondall in Hampshire
