I believe that Edwin was my great great granddad. I originally found his name on my great grandparent's 1920 marriage certificate. I made a mistake on my previous post - it is actually on his daughter's marriage certificate and not his sons. At that point the family home appears to be in Brick Street, Ardwick.
In 1901 he is living with his mother-in-law at Fortune Street in Manchester and his wife Ellen Ann. He is 33 yrs old. They have 6 named children - John, Lister, Ellis, Catherine, Caroline & Alice. In c.1902 my great grandmother Annie was born.
On both the 1901 census and the marriage certificate he is recorded as being a wood turner.
Annie - my great grandmother was tragically killed in 1940 during the Manchester blitz. I have more information regarding Annie and her family if either yourself, or our other distant 'Speakman cousin' would be interested.
