Would someone please be able to check the 1861 census for Manchester to see who was living at 10 Comet St, Manchester.
Surnames I am interested in are Speakman and Holliday/Halliday.

I have Speakman ancestors living in Manchester. I believe that they may have been publicans. If this information would be of assistance - let me know.

Cragrat,
I don't have any Speakmans who were publicans - mine all seemed to be cabinet makers.
Mine also seemdd to stay around the Salford area.
I fany of this looks like what you have, let me know.

Molar,
Names I have are James Speakman, Caroline Holliday

That would be great if you could please!
My Speakman people are all cabinet makers so any who are cabinet makers are likely to be mine.

I have an Edwin Speakman who was born c. 1868 in Manchester who was a wood turner. This is quoted both as his occupation on the 1901 census and again on his son's marriage certificate in 1920. I haven't followed Edwin's line yet.............I will do and if I find any further cabinet maker/wood turner/carpenter Speakman relations I'll let you know.

Thanks SKB - will crossreference this to what I have.

Cragrat - Not sure what relation this Edwin Speakman is to you but I have one born 15 Jun 1867 at 10 Comet Street, Manchester.  He was my 2nd great grand uncle (!) - that's what the relationship calculator on my database tells me anyway!

Please let me know how you are related to him - I have a lot of Speakman info to share with you!  Much of it came from a distant cousin who is actually descended from this Edwin - I am descended from his older brother James.
