Dear Irret,

Can I ask another favour please?  Can you trace the birth registration index details for Frederick Naden, son of Howard and Mary Alice, born Liverpool 1920. I cannot find him on any of the systems to which I have access. Your help would be much appreciated.

Dear Irret,

Thank you for the details re Frederick and, indeed, for the other references. The detail has changed my view of the likely events that took place some 85 years ago. It was thought that Howard ran off and eventually met Margaret Ennis with whom he had another family, she not knowing of his existing wife. However, their eldest child, Margaret must have been conceived between April and June 1920 (I will know more when I get the birth cert) the same period in which Frederick was born to his wife. This suggests to me that Howard and Margaret ran off together from Liverpool and that Margaret knew Howard was a married man. This would also explain, perhaps, why Margaret did not pressurise Howard into getting married.

This chase is proving quite exciting. Thanks for finding the pieces of the jigsaw!
