Thomas ARMSTRONG

I need to find out the birthplace of Thomas Armstrong who farmed at Shelland in the early 19th century. He married Elizabeth Wakelin (or Wheatly) at Shelland but unfortunately the parish marriage records don't give his birthplace. There is no entry for his baptism, so I assume he wasn't born in the parish, but possibly nearby - he had connections with Wetherden, I think. He was born in about 1755 and I believe he died in 1844, but sadly the 1841 Census only gives his county of birth (Suffolk). I'd be grateful if someone could look him up for me as he's a key figure in my research.

I have just read your Rootschat message of 8th Nov 2004. I believe that Thomas Armstrong (ca 1755 -1844) was my 4greatsgrandfather. I do not have any info on his birthplace but, if you wish to exchange info on some of descendents, i would certainly be interested.

This marriage appears in Wetherden, from Boyds marriage index, so a possibility for Thomas' parents.
