William Thompson born Aug 1799 in Lanchester Married Jane Allison born 1802 in Wolsingham.  They lived at Broadwood Farm as Servant in Husbandary.

William's Father was Robert Thompson Mother Ann Dyson born Tanfield married 1796 in Tanfield

Jane's Father was John Allison I believe he was a Miller in Wolsingham.

It would appear William left farming and took up coal mining before the last 3 children were born.

Just a newbie, i noticed that my ancestors are from Weardale too, Stanhope, Blackcleugh areas
back as far as 1570
Nattrass is the main name obvious various spellings but connected to this family are
Rippon
Pert (Peart)
Emerson
Bowman
Walton

Hi all,
Just come across this thread. I am descended from Stephensons, Emersons and Rutherfords up the dale.
Have a lot to do, following up on my mothers research.
Stanhope and Westgate areas as far as l can see.
