Hatton lookup please 1871

I have found 1881 census info on my great grandmother Mary Jane Hatton born 1872

Ellen aged 47
James aged 54
Henry aged19
Mary (Jane) aged 8
Thomas aged 5
all born manchester living in kinders court.

I can find no trace of any of the family pre or post this date until Mary Jane in 1901 married to my great granfather James McBride.
I know Mary and Thomas would not appear on the 1871 but i can find no trace of their parents or siblings any help would be great.

Do you have Mary Jane's birth cert,and if so, what is her mother's maiden name? 

I can't see an obvious match for the famly in 1871, and wonder if it was a second marriage for James and/or Ellen - there's a big gap between Henry and Mary.

I haven't got Mary's birth cert maybe that should be the next thing I do.

I still can't find henry or James on any other census records. From LDS records I believe Ellens maiden name was Mellor.

Both Mary and thomas were christened in St Andrews manchester if that narrows down a location!?

Still not a sign of them - and no Ellen Mellor with correct dob on the earlier censuses...  ???

The birth cert looks like your next priority!
