Not much but here's a couple clues for searching the ScotlandsPeople records.......

You can locate the death of David Keddie at age 88...
You can located the death of Walter Hutson Keddie at age 49

and the birth date you have listed on Margaret seems to be a christening date instead....this info transcribed from BIVR Index...

KEDDIE, Margaret   
Date of birth:9 Jun 1843   
Date of Christening:13 Aug 1843   
Selkirk, Selkirk, Scotland

Hubby recons that I could have paid someone ten times over to do the research for me.
But then I would miss the Buzz you get when you find something and it keeps me out of mischief

This sounds very much like my family - Keddie m Helen Hutson. They originally came from Galashiels. I haven't done anything much with my family tree for a long time but if you are still searching I will look it up.

They lived in galashields in 1848 when James was born.
If this is your family I would love to know if you managed to find anything on
John Keddie and Janet Anderson.
I have found more info  on James and Helen's family and will fill in the blanks
as soon as i find time

I seem to remember hitting a blank with John Keddie and Janet Andison. However, I have lots of the other details about James/Helen and down from there. Tried for ages with Janet Andison and got nowhere, think she probably had a slightly different rcorded name. Also James' siblings I have most details for.  Haven't looked at this for a long time, so I'll have to look it up at home. I found most of the birth/death certs for the children. I come down from James Keddie/Andrew m  Margaret Cavers. Where do you branch in at? I met an unknown second cousin in Galashiels a few years ago.
