1851 census White - Tywardreath area
« on: Sunday 07 November 04 20:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

would it be possible for someone to look up the following family in 1851?

Thomas White aged about 35,
Christiana White also about 35
Charlotte Whiote aged 14

There is a very small possibility that there was also a Walter Bate aged about 80 and Elizabeth Bate aged about 75.

Any information about this family would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Jean Sandra

No sign of this family in Tywardreath in 1851..Have been through the 6 sections this morn and didnt spot a single White at all untill I was in the 5th section..Then I found a few families of Whites but none even vaguely similar to this family of yours. 51 is not indexed so without knowing where to look it is hopeless. I tried 61 which is indexed to c if that may tell me something but could not locate them there either. Deff no Christiana or Charlotte White at all....Sorry

Hello, I'm wondering if you are interested in the family of John White of Tywardreath? I located a marriage record for John to Susan Penrose/Penvose June 16, 1846. I believe Susan may have been a sister to my ancestor, John Penvose who died in Tywardreath in 1866. The marriage record states her father was John, John White's father is listed as Thomas White, a miner. I haven't researched this line further as of yet. I believed the surname was Penrose, but all of John's children used the Penvose spelling in the US, as did his son, Edward, who settled in Barnsley, Yorkshire.

HI Dorothy

My ancestor is Maria Penvose who is the oldest sister of John Penvose (your ancestor).

Both above are the children of John Penvose and Margaret Rowe.

Have you had any success in following their forefathers?
