Is that the latest idea used instead of "walking the plank"?

It was an amazing experience. Not as scary as walking the plank (I suppose)! And good to see such investment outside of London  - or indeed England!

Meles ~

I think you and OH should come up and join us - when and if. I'd certainly love to sit down and have a dram with you and a natter about this and that ~ swap a few recipes, etc  ;D

I think I would even walk over one of those wiggly, woggly bridges if you and the rest of the crew were there to help me.

I do like Ferris wheels and dodgums and scary stuff, but wiggly wogglies  :-\ :-\ :-\

It all goes back to about 5 months before I was born.

Thanks for the invite. We are owed a couple of days' leave and might just pop up and and surprise you all!  ;)

Forget the wriggly bridges. I'm not good at heights - ask Gadget about my helicopter trip!

Hi Gail  :)

You are most welcome - most of us are mad, as you may have gathered (speak for yourself, Gadget, I hear) but we are serious about our hobbyobsession. I'll put you on the list.

I hope you know what you've let yourself in for.

Any help/queries - give a shout.

On the assumption that I already belong to the place, Glasgow would be great!

Incidentally, what areas of the country use the word 'belong' in this way?

In the North East, it's usual to ask people "Where do you belong?"  but in the North West a similar question is just met with shrugged eyebrows!

We say 'where do you stay' up here, Paul.

Confusing at times but one gets used to it :)

A piece is a packed lunch. I will keep you informed.

You, Mother,  Colin, sister and all the rest of the E numbers are welcome  :D

But you'll need to bring some Magnates with you - aka J K Rowling, Mohammed Fayad, Paul MaCartney (I can't spell him!  :-[) ,et al.

Hi all  :)
The Falkirk Wheel is the most amazingly cool bit of engineering I've seen in a long time.  A friend of mine recently returned from a trip back home to Scotland and visited the wheel - she thought it was brilliant!  :D
Gadget, I will probably bring Mr PrueM along to the meet as we'll be travelling together anyway.  Not sure if he'll be up to coping with a bunch of mad family historians but I'll do me best to coax him!  Our ancestors come from all over the shop - Fife, Moray, Aberdeen, Inverness - so I don't mind where the meet is, we will be trying to visit some of these places anyway on our trip...in fact, some of his ancestors and some of mine used to live in neighbouring parishes in Moray for a generation or two!  :o
Just don't forget the ancestral Distillery!  ;D *hic*
