Hi Clare  :)

Stirling might be a possible compromise venue - Highland-ish with lots of history and within jumping distance of Glasgow and Edinburgh. A bit further to Inverness though.

Are you a possible helper  :) ;) :)

We're still waiting on the date of the Dublin meet at the moment but things are looking pretty good  :.

Thanks Clare  :)

You might have to keep those distillery crawlers historians in order for a start  :D

Mrs B and I would certainly be interested in Glasgow, or possibly Stirling/Edinburgh, but all dependent on timing (and Mrs B's Paisley parents willingness to child-sit).

Whatever, given the interest shown by those far afield, it might be worth assembling a list of supplementary activities for those travelling a long distance so that they can put together their own "package" around a RootsChat meet and making the most of their stay?

Hi Julian  :)

Glad you and Mrs B are interested!

I'm sure that we can arrange something but we'll have to wait and see where and when before we get to the 'what else can we do' stage

As you probably know, there are masses of things to do in the Edinburgh/Glasgow corridor plus various trips to both the southern parts of Argyll and the islands off the Clyde estuary and the Perthshire/Stirling/Fife/Borders. Not forgetting my special ancestral bit, Dumfries and Galloway and all those other places....................

I even know of a  good Bistro in Paisley, if you need one  ;D ;D ;D

Gadget

Prue - you are absolved, of course. It was Joe and Keith that I was concerned about. I know you have ancestral links with distilleries  :D

I'm keeping my eye on this too.  It would be nice to go to a meet but there's too many factors involved (work etc) for me to make a commitment to it at this stage, sorry

With all the "extra curricular activities" when (will???) the meeting actually take place ... and no wineries   ;D  ;D mentioned.

Again much appreciation for your administrivia skills ....

Please keep me on the interested list ...

That must be a new place then  ::)

I take it that Gadget as the instigator of this venture is volunteering for the role of organiser ?
