Hi  Gadget

Count me in.  ;D I have no preference as to where we meet up. My Scottish clan are from Melrose only just over the border so anywhere is fine I will drop off there on the the way there or back  :-\

When are you over, Prue?

Tis midgie time in the West then mind :-\

Main problem then is cost of any accommodation - and even the shortage of it in Edinburgh in August - Festival and peak tourist season.

Not exactly sure yet when we will be over.  It has to be some time in the northern Summer though - I know good weather is not guaranteed, but I refuse to visit the UK in wintertime ever again!!!!  8)

It might be a few months before our decision is made.  Suggestions (such as avoiding midgies and festivals etc.) most welcome, to help us choose.

To add to the timing debate - anywhere north is really not very comfortable in July/August because of the midges.  So how about May/June - the days are reasonably long, and it's outside of the school holidays so accomodation costs will not be at such a premium.

Julian

Pay attention  ::) ::) ::)

The reason it can't be May/June is that the Dublin meet is in June and some people are going to both. see just a few postings above!

July and August are only midgie on the west coast near peat bogs.

Tut tut.

Is September too far the other way?

It's just that school holidays means prices extortionate (is that how you spell it??)

I think that Sarah and Pam were thinking more Sept/October earlier. We're also awaiting the dates of Pam's course which she won't know until January.
