Hi Nelly

Only the records of Volunteers, Yeomanry and Territorials who were embodied for full time service - ie in the Boer War or WW1 have been kept. All records are online except for the IY during the Boer War which are in Kew. But there is an index here - http://www.britishmedals.us/kevin/impyeomanryl.html

If he served during war-time details of his medals will be on Ancestry. If he did not serve full-time he only attended one night a week, plus a two week annual camp. So he would not have done anything worth recording.

It is always worth contacting his local record office, as they may have some background records or photographs.

Ken

Hi Ken, that would make sense of why I can't find any records. I will certainly follow up on your suggestions.  Thank you.

Thank you too Ady.
