In the book Broseley and its surrounds by john randall,it mentions The Old Hall an old house at Coalford Jackfield Shropshire that was owned by a Lacon Beard,in a diary of Lacon Beard it says on the 10th of march 1832 the house was pulled down by Lord Foresters men after being in the family since 25th March 1595,the Lacon family were the original owners of the property and connected to the Beards.
in 1657 a James Lacon and his wife Dorothy of the West Coppice leased the Old Hall to Phillips Reynolds,James and Dorothy Lacon had a son called John.
I have the Beard on my family tree, the Beards inter married with the Potts family many times over the generations,my grt grand parents x 4 were William Potts and Drucilla Lloyd both decended from members of the Beard family.The Beard family vaults were at the Red Church Jackfield,grave stones for Beards are also in St Leonards Church Broseley Shropshire and a cast iron grave stone for a Eustace Beard is in Benthall Church.Extracts of wills for some Beards can be found in the book miners and mariners of the severn gorge.
