I believe Hugh's parents were James MUIRHEAD & Helen (Ellen) SUTHERLAND. I have the family in the 1841 Census of Stobbs Mills, Borthwick, Scotland. James was a Powder Maker.

I don't know if this will have any connection to your Muirhead's, but just recently I saw on one of our local T.V shows that there was a book on the Muirhead family tree. I'll see  what I can find.

Thanks Corsharn. Would certainly be interested in details of the book. It's been a bit of a lonly seach for these MUIRHEADs until the last week or so.
