Searching for information on Charles Hunter who died 04 Apr 1789 Ramsbury Wiltshire England m sarah ? had 7 sons between 1739-55 need parents, birth date, place, marriage date and spouse name any help would be great Lynne

Were the children all born in Ramsbury and do you have any further information as to where Charles and Sarah were born or where they were married?

what i have is that charles married sarah ? in 1738 at burbage she has no surname  yes all their sons were born/christened in ramsbury i have charles senior being born c 1717 no parents or birth place am trying to find his family and go back further in the tree ta lynne

Nothing in Burbage on marriage or baptisms, but did see the burial in Ramsbury 4 Apr 1789.

Further to my last, I could see no Hunter marriage in Ramsbury in 1738.   Found the following burials in Ramsbury
4 Apr 1789 Charles Hunter husband of Sarah
6 Jun 1793 Sarah Hunter widow

Could not find a Charles Hunter in Ramsbury baptisms but spotted the following 6 sons of Charles and Sarah Hunter
19 Jul 1741 Thomas,   6 Nov 1743 William
8 Dec 1745 Edward,   28 Oct 1748 Joseph
19 May 1751 George,   6 Apr 1755 Richard

Hi Dave

Just read your latest repy to Pollyperka with interest - I wonder whether one of the Hunter boys you mention could have been the father or grandfather to my great great grandfather Richard Hunter.  He was born in Ramsbury about 1791 but so far that's as much as I know.

Anyway, gives me some names to think about so thank you!

I'll see if he pops up in Ramsbury, Janet.   Wouldn't it be great if he turned out to be the Richard Hunter baptized 1755.
