Hine Hind, Smith, Townley in Old Stratford area
« on: Saturday 23 September 06 20:14 BST (UK) »
Does anything here sound familiar to anyone. I am researching the folllowing:

Generation 1 - lived in Cardiff largely. Ernest married Murial Hine.

Ernest Hine = Esther Jones (Hetty).

Ernest: b 1883/4, Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire.
Esther Jones b 1 June 1883.

The couple married and lived in cardiff.

Generation 2 - Parents of Ernest Hine

Ernest Hine's parents: Thomas Hine = Sarah Ann Smith.

Thomas: b 1855 Shottery, Warwickshire. Died, unknown.
Sarah Ann Smith baptized 12 June 1842, Shottery.
Married 1877 in Stratford Upon Avon.
Children: Fred b 1878, Ernest and Ella b 1880
About his wife Sarah Ann Smith.

Parents were William b in 1816 in Old Stratford and Mary (perhaps maiden name of smith) b 1814 in Old Stratford. Children Sarah Ann b 1842, John b 1840 and Thomas b 1844.
Children: Minnie 1863 and Ann 1862, to wife Ann ?

Generation 3 - Parent of Thomas Hine

William Hine = Sylvia Townley

William born or baptized 5 JUL 1829 in Halford (d 15 JAN 1892 in Shottery?)
Silvia Townley born or baptized 15 Mar 1835 in Pillerton Priors.
(Silvia's parents were James and Sarah - no other data)
Children
James Hine baptised in Holy Trinity 10, July 1864? , Shottery, d c.1892? ( married Lavinia Currell in Holy Trinity 25 April 1885)
Thomas Hine b 1855, Shottery.
Silvia b 1859 in Hampton Lucyd
William b 1857 in Hampton Lucyd

Generation 4 - Parents of William Hine -

A Thomas HIND baptized 1 July 1798 in Halford? Died 20 Jun 1867 in Halford.
In 1852? Thomas Hind married in Halford to Elizabeth (Furman, Farmer or Furmar or similar)

(** BAPTISM AND MARRIAGE is alleged to say HIND, in census it is HINE and children are HINE)

In 1841 census an Elizabeth b around 1801 to an Eliizabeth b 1801 (Ag labs) with a son Thomas aged 11 and a William.

1861 census lists an Elizabeth and Thomas Hine aged 62 and 60.

Definately the right family as the 1871 census lists Elizabeth as a Widow living with her son William and Sylvia (Generation 3) in shottery age 75.

Marriage document says THOMAS HIND had parents WILLIAM HIND and SARAH. Another researcher believes they had two childen, Thomas HIND b 1798 and Ann HIND b 1804
Smyth, Thomas, Hankinson, Hine, Gibson, Gumbley, Muckley, Jones.

Hi there,

I am researching part of my family which are the Townley's from Pillerton Priors and my great great grandfathers sister was Sylvia Townley. I have a little info going backwards from there on the Townley if that is any help?
