It may well be - I am not sure at this stage. When I said I'd seen the Petries on 1901 Census it was the offspring of David (junior b1846) and Mary who had remarried William Donnelly. We do have Mary and David's marriage cert which shows David as a Mariner and his father is down as a general labourer. The big factor there being that his dad was also a David.
He died very young (39) Born 1846 died 1886. I have emailed my sister who has all the certs we have ordered just to check if we have his death cert. (If we don't I have the death record reference on which to order it).
Will let you know if it pans out.
