It is very hard on the eyes though.

I know from reading wills (or should that be trying to read wills!) that it can be very hard work on the eyes especially if you don't have that much experience.

Perhaps in small doses it might be ok.

this site has been saying that it will be up and running for soon for about 2 years so I will wait patiently for all the people who are transcribing all the records a laborious task they are doing a super job and i am sure if we have to wait another 2 years it will be worth waiting for

According to posts seen elsewhere, FreeREG going live is imminent - I thought they said by last weekend but maybe it is still being fine-tuned. Access to it will be phased in over a couple of weeks (based upon IP address) in order to prevent the servers being overwhelmed by a rush of searches.
