MOTHERSOLE
« on: Sunday 07 November 04 01:11 GMT (UK) »
I have a copy of entry in All Saints, Poplar, Middlesex Church register 15 Apr 1849, of James Whitrow to Caroline Mothersole. Her Father is Phillip Mothersole (Builder) a witness to the marriage is Alethea Mothersole.
I have since found on a LDS family search: Husband, Phillip Mothersole. Wife, Elizabeth Borley. Daughter, Alethea Mothersole, C. 12 Jun 1828 Suffolk County Bts, Suffolk, England.
I am inclined to think this is the same family and that Alethea is Caroline's younger sister. I would greatly appreciate any help re further info on the family.
Caroline with two children aged 5 and 3 arrived in Melbourne, Australia Oct. 1855 aged 37 but tragically died some two and a Half years later.

This looks like the famly in 1841. No sign of Caroline.  The 41 does not record relationships nor place of birth.  Adult ages are often rounded to nearest 5.

A volunteer from the Suffolk Surnames List, offers lookups from the original Livermere registers, so it would be well worth contacting her.

hi,
Mothersole also rang a bell with me, I have a martha mothersole who married george sadler in 1852, december 1/4, i have no other info on this other than i think they had 2 children  Albert, and thamra.
I can find no trace of them in the 1861 census and by the 1871 census george is married again.
Hope this might help.
