Richard CARTER - Birth/Marriage Look Up

Hi,

Would anybody out there be able to look up a marriage for Richard Carter to Sarah probably took place at St Andrews, Hertford around 1795 to 1800???

Richard was born in St Andrews, Hertford anytime between 1767 to 1778 so if anybody could find a birth for him as well that would be brilliant.

Hi Lisa,

I searched the St.Andrews parish records but could find neither marriage nor baptism for  Richard Carter during the periods quoted. 
Reference to the Hertfordshire Allen Index of Marriages for Richard also drew a blank.

Hi Lisa,

I just notice your posts about the Carter family from Hertford and your descent from Charles William Carter (b1806). I wonder if you have got any further since those posts, in 2005/6, in uncovering the family's origins. I am descended from CWCarter's older brother, Richard Carter (1795 - 1837) whose son, Frederick Carter (1834 - 1902) emigrated to New Zealand in 1858.

There was story in the family that Richard, or his father, Richard Carter (abt 1767 - 1824), was involved in the London to Bath coach route. Because of the absence of birth or marriage records in Hertford, I thought he or they might have been born in Somerset, or somewhere en route thereto. Do you have any idea yourself?

Thanks for your message.  Unfortunately I didn't get any further with the Carter Family and can't believe it was that long ago that I posted the original request!! 

I do know that they were all coach drivers so you could be right that they were born elsewhere.  I have been meaning to go back to the Hertfordshire records office but just not had the time.

I will have another look at this branch of the family when I get a moment and let you know if I find anything.
