Hello both

Well after a bit of Googling from me (when I should have been working

) I have found that the little farm of Ayoun/Ayeon is now part of the famous Cragganmore Distillery. Husband (whose family these are) is hopeful that there is an ancient Scottish law providing him with part ownership of same. I have done my best to knock that idea out of his head!
John OGILVIE's will states that all the farmland, stock and crops were to be sold to John SMITH, who was the founder of the distillery. The site was chosen because the water from the Craggan burn was of such high quality, and there was a railway line very close by (now gone).
Thanks both of you for helping me to find this out!
