If your James ALLEN is a descendant of Philip ALLEN (born or baptised 18 Feb 1811, Wadenhoe, died 7 May 1891 Aldwincle, buried at Wadenhoe), then I may be able to give details of the earlier family in the Oundle area (and their connections to my family also), but I don't have any details of male ALLENs in that area later than Philip and his son, another Philip (a brewer, born 1839, living in Hardingstone in the 1881 census). I don't have any James ALLENs.
