Still waiting for mine with an est. despatch date of 9th October..........

The one I received yesterday (10th) had despatch date 9th.  I hadn't really expected it until today, so was quite pleased when it turned up yesterday.

It was just a single order, though.  I wonder if that's making any difference?

definitely-I routinely send mine as single orders now-especially as there is no cost advantage to send off in batches

One I ordered on the 7th came today, 17th, but in fairness, that was only 6 working days (and 2 weekends).

It just seems like forever when you are at the gate every day, waiting to grab the mail from the postman !

Anyone else having a delay in receiving their certs? I ordered one on the 6th Oct with a despatch date of the 13th Oct but have it hasn't arrived yet.

Do you think that I should be concerned? They have always turned up more or less on time before. EVEN hubby is asking if it's arrived yet!!

The site has a note on it now  saying that due to the current series of WDYTYA they expect to get a lot of requests which may affect the delivery time. So I guess someone has been reading RootscChat  ;D

I applied for 3 certificates on 15th estimated despatch date is 23rd so I will be watching the post in anticipation especially as I hope one may well show the name of g-g-g-grandfather  :)

Have noticed one thing - If you send off for multiple copies they don't always come in one envelope. I even had two envelopes for a couple who died two days apart. So I guess it may be whoever digs up the certificate copies it then posts it rather than collecting all together for one addressee. Which I suppose in a way is logical if they are getting thousands of requests.

Got all three of them today in one envelope and it's the 23rd   Well done ONS  ;D ;D

Also got g.g.g.grandfathers name (Philip) hope it's right because the bride was listed as a widow on the 1851 census is shown as a spinster !!!

So one puzzle gets solved but another gets opened. :(
