Harwood or Jupp from West Chiltington

I'm just tentatively tracing different lines of my tree, and I come across an Ann Sophia Harwood, born in 1855, who appears to be the daughter of James Harwood and Lucy Jupp. 

James and Lucy married on 31st Jan 1846 in or around West Chiltington, but other than this I haven't found anything yet.

Does anyone have an 1851 census listing for this couple in or around W. Chiltington? Or any other info?

Sorry, cant help you on this one, I do not have any of the 1851 census for East Sussex

Will look in the 1841, but dont keep your fingers crossed as it is not indexed in any way

Its beginning to look like I come from a long line of farming folk. But then I suppose most people do at some stage of their linneage.

Just adding my two pennyworth.
This is the marriage of Samuel & Sophia, is there a clue there for you in the witnesses name, George JUPP?

Place: East Preston, West Sussex,  Date: 29 May 1815:
Subject: Samuel HARWOOD, bach
Spouse: Sophia HERRINGTON, sp botp (B)
Extra Information: w: Jn LEGGETT Geo JUPP

I did a quick check for the distrubution of marriages in the name of HARWOOD and found, 26 in Pulborough (next door to W. Chiltington) 13 for North Stoke, 12 for Lewes & 10 for W. Chiltington itself.

It certainly looks likely that he may be Lucy Jupps father, or a relative of her father. Maybe George Jupp and Samuel Harwood were a couple of friends who eventually married off their children to each other.

I am quite glad that my ancestors weren't the adventurous types. Seems they've been living in the same area for hundreds of years. I even think some of my relatives in Balcombe may be living in the same houses as the family were living in 150 years ago. It makes things a lot easier to trace.

By the way, what does 'sp botp (B)' mean on the marriage cert? I guess sp is spinster, but what about the rest? Is it 'born of the parish' or something like that?

I am also tracing harwoods from west chiltington my grt grt grandfather was edmund harwood
born c1824 parents william harwood and anne collins.
edmund marr elizabeth fookes 1854 shorditch london they had 2 children i know of william and frederick j both born in poplar england i would be very grateful if you can let me know if this is your line or not i look forward to your reply lynette email (*)
