Hello Marian, I've not followed this up yet. I was wondering whether this Richard is the Richard Boots bap 1759 Northiam of James Boots and Mary Ranger. There is also a Richard Boots = Catharine Fearon in New South Wales, AUS with Richard dying 1835 and Catherine 1832 both NSW. This Richard was transported but gained a conditional pardon in 1821. He's the only Richard that fits. Another Richard Boots married Jane Heselman in 1787 Salehurst, and I was wondering if details of the case could establish whether he was the Northian or Salehurst Richard.
