Marriage look up please

Hi,

My G G Grandfather John Jones married a Catherine c 1890 in Pontypridd.
Lived in Ystradyfodgw, in parish of St Andrews, Clydach.
Only problem is there are three marriages for a John Jones and a Catherine all in that time span.
One is a Catherine Fullylove, one a Catherine Richards and the other a Catherine Edwards.
I know Johns fathers name so am hoping with that I can get the exact marriage.
Does anyone have access to Marriages in this area around that time.
His father was Richard Jones.

Hi Colleen

There might be a way around this dilemma!

Have you got the happy couple on the 1891 and 1901 censuses?  It should be possible to work out whether the various Catherines are a match, based on what they say in 1881 - at least Catherine FULLYLOVE should be easier to find!

Catherine Mary FULLILOVE aged 9 and born Dowlais in 1881, living Ystradyfodwg.

The other Catherines might be trickier!

Hi arranroots,

I think it is Catherine Fullylove.
the reason being, the Catherine who was a Richards is out  on age...and the other clue being, the final catherine was catherine pugh not catherine edwards (god knows where that came from)
I have found this one and her husband has taken her maiden name on the census and they show as John and Catherine Pugh Jones.
So that leaves the Catherine Fullylove...just hope I am right, as I can't find a Marriage for them on the CDs I have.

Sounds reasonable then - did you use the full indexes to check (not quite joking)?

Might be worth ordering on the basis of the father's name being Richard JONES.

I don;t suppose there are any FULLILOVEs lving nearby in any of the censuses?  I note that she is the neice of the household in 1881, so we don;t know who her parents are, but will have a squint at 1871 just in case...

Hiya

Her father is John Fullylove and mother is Mary Ann...Joseph who she is living with is her fathers brother.
They all live within a couple of streets of each other..why she is with them is unclear but it isnt the first time I have come across this.
I never thought to check under the fathers name at all to be honest.
I know her dad is still alive in 1901, as is Richard Jones.
