MIDGLEY of East Rigton
« on: Friday 08 September 06 13:43 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the parents of David Midgley, born in East rigton/East Keswick near to Wetherby, in ~1785. The church records are held in Leeds. I would welcome any help, as this branch are proving illusive. David Midgley eventually moved to Hessay where he died in 1862, Age 77.
I don't know if there is a link with the david and Richard Midgley, corn- millers.
Thank you for any help.

The David Midgley from Horsforth in 1884 was born in Wistow near Selby around 1870. His father William was an agricultural labourer but I've no idea if this included corn milling? I intend on gaining further details on this branch myself. One useful source I have found is:

Haley - Bradford, Halifax, Preston, Belfast
Midgley - Horsforth, Wistow, Brayton
Adams - Armley, Kirkstall, Derbyshire
King - Leeds
Blackham - Derbyshire
Tindall - Bradford, Leeds, Dringhouses
Trowsdale - Gilling East
Wilton - Hunslet, Holbeck
Kitchen - Hunslet

Hi,
The David Midgley born in Wistow you mention; son of William & Ellen, is one of my ancestors. Any further information about them or pointers will be really appreciated.
I have David as a witness to one of his brothers marriages on 10/1/1891, if anyone is interested in a copy let me know.
