Egypt 1946
« on: Thursday 07 September 06 09:01 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace my grandads (Arthur Stuart Curtis dob 28/5/1906) war history and  trying to ascertain which regiment he was in.

The only clues I have are:
He was in Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt 1946.
He looked after POW's
A small photo contains a reference to V.D.U Disposal.

From this limited info, can anybody help me  ???

CURTIS - London (Kensington/Tottenham)
SACHS - London
MADDEN - Marylebone
LOFT - Kent

Hi Curtis,
Have you checked the National Archives site.  If your grandad survived the war you may need to visit www.veteransagency.mod.uk/service_records/service_records.html
to apply for his service records.  If you 'google' tel-el-kebir you'll find out more about the place
