1841 Kent, Goudhurst - Willett

Hi there

I wonder if anyone has access to the 1841 census or parish records for Goudhurst (or possibly Hawkhurst), Kent.

I am really looking for any entries that relate to the Willett Family but Charles born in Goudhurst about 1825 is the main interest.  His father was Stephen (born 1791 Iden, Sussex wife Elizabeth) and Charles had brothers Joseph (born Goudhurst about 1816) and Henry (born Goudhurst about 1822).  There is also an Alfred (born Goudhurst about 1840.

Charles married Sophia Brackfield in Hawkhurst 23 November 1846.

It appears that the whole family upped sticks and left Kent after 1841 because they all appear in Sussex in the 1851 census but not in the 1841 Sussex census. Note that the name is sometimes spelt with just one 't'.

I will be grateful for any information on the Willetts in Kent.

Charles Willett was living at Gate House Goudhurst in 1841.
Charles was 15 years old --his occupation is not clear, looks like A L--could be Agricultural  labourer . Charles was working for--what looks like Humphrey Wickham age 30 Farmer, Elizabeth Wickham age 25 . Also living there is an Elizabeth Burgess age 20. Mary Hiles age 15 and Elizabeth Ushwood age 15.
Elizabeth Brackfield is part of my family. Hope this helps. Mumsi

Just found Stephen Willett. He was living at 'Lady Oak' Goudhurst age 45 born 1796. AG; labourer. I know this date does not fit with the one you give (1791)but that is not unusual!---Stephen has NO witten in the 'whether born in this county column.--Elizabeth Willett age 45.born 1796 George Willett age 9-born 1832, Elizabeth Willett age 7--1834--John Willett age 5--1836.  Hope this works for you,Mumsi
