Hi

Do you have his parents' names. The 1891 has three possibles:

Price and Mary - indexed as Price but looks like Reece to me  ::)

Edward and Francesca

Sarah E

It would seem that Edward died at sometime between the 1881 census and the 1891 that I've shown above.
I assume you have seen the 1881, where Sarah, aged 37,  is shown as married rather than widowed and is an engine driver's wife - living at Hughes's Row, Adywrclawdd, Bersham. With her are John, 12, Robert, 10, Sarah E, 4, and Alfred E, 2. All are shown as being born Wrexham. REf is RG11/5515 V. 70 P. 6.

I'll check on deaths during the 1880s for Edward.

If you go to www.ancestry.co.uk and search their FREE BMD index, you'll find that there are a number of Edward Griffiths deaths in the 1881-1891 period in the Wrexham/Chester area.

The most likely one is:
December Quarter 1883, Wrexham, Vol. 11b, page 197,  aged 39.

The North Wales BMD Index shows quite a number of Edward's also, mainly registered Ruabon - which is possible - It's worth checking this out as well. It does give the local Registry Office Ref though rather than the GRO one:
